Materials:

  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Alligator Clip
  • Scissors
  • 2 small googly eyes
  • 4 ¾" length of black 3/8" grosgrain
  • 6" length of black 3/8" grosgrain
  • 3 ½" length of white 3/8" grosgrain
  • 2 ¾" length of white 3/8" grosgrain
  • Two pieces of 2" length 3/8" black grosgrain
  • 5/8" length of 3/8" orange grosgrain
  • 1" length of 3/8" grosgrain

Step-by-Step Instructions

Line the alligator clip with the 4 ¾" length piece of black 3/8" grosgrain.

Using the 6" of 3/8" black grosgrain, make a small loop at one end. Tack the small loop down with a small dab of hot glue.

Bring the long tail back around and meet with the other loop in a figure-8 shape. Glue together to hold.
Make small loops with the 3 ½" and the 2 ¾" pieces of white grosgrain. Then, turn the black body over to the back and glue the white loops loops inside, biggest, then smallest.

With each piece of 2" long black 3/8" ribbon, fold in half and glue the ends together to form the "wings".

Glue these pieces right below the small loop (head) of the penguin.

Cut the 5/8" long piece of 3/8" orange grosgrain into a V shape for the beak. Take care to seal the edges all the way around to avoid fraying.

Glue the beak between the wings. Attach the googly eyes right above the beak, with the eyes touching one another side-to-side.

Glue the one-inch long piece of white 3/8" grosgrain about ¼" above the pinch of the clip.

Then, apply glue to the head of the penguin and affix to the clip, with the pinch at the bottom. The body of the penguin will round out when attached to the clip
