d holder

The Bow Holder design and photos were provided by Jessie Mitchell. Credit where credit is due! Many thanks to Jessie for helping to enlarge our collection of FREE bow instructions.

Materials

Wooden letter (this one is $.99 at Michael's)
1 or 2 10-inch lengths of grosgrain ribbon, depending on letter
acrylic paint or spray paint
paint brush
ribbon for bow at top
sand paper
Modge Podge, or other sealant

Instructions

1. Lightly sand the rough edges on the letter.

2. If using spray paint, just evenly spray the letter. If using craft paint, paint the edges, then lay it flat and paint the top, using 2 coats. I painted little dashes around the edges. You could do polka-dots or any other decorative touch.

3. Seal with Modge Podge. The sparkly kind looks great.

4. Fray check the ends of the 10-inch ribbon length(s). Dab some glue on the bottom and roll it up slightly, so if clips slip they can't fall off. Then attach 10 inch ribbon to bottom of letter.

5. Use any type of ribbon to make a standard bow and glue it to the top of the letter.
